Antirrhinum 'DoubleShot Peach' Seeds
If you love the ruffled look of 'Madame Butterfly' but want something sturdier, 'DoubleShot Peach' is the answer. This F1 Hybrid variety produces stunning, open-faced double blooms that look more like miniature roses or azaleas than traditional snapdragons.
The colour is exquisite—a warm, glowing blend of apricot, peach, and soft champagne that fits perfectly into trending "sunset" or "vintage" colour palettes. Bred for performance, it produces strong, branching stems that stand up well to wind and rain, making it an incredible garden performer and a long-lasting cut flower that keeps pumping out blooms all summer.

🌿 Understanding the Plant
This is an F1 Hybrid Half-Hardy Annual.
The 'DoubleShot' series is famous for being wind-resistant. While taller varieties often need staking, 'DoubleShot' grows to a manageable 50cm with thick, sturdy stems that hold themselves up. Ideally suited for exposed gardens where other cut flowers might struggle.
The "Open Face": Because the flowers are open (not fused shut), they are much easier for bees to access than traditional snapdragons, making them a better choice for pollinators.
🌱 Growing Guide: How to Sow and Grow
Start these early for the longest flowering season.
Germination:
Sow indoors from January to March. Surface sow onto moist compost and do not cover (light is essential for germination). Keep warm (20-22°C). Germination takes 10-14 days.
Where to Sow:
Plant out after the last frost. They love **full sun** but tolerate light shade. They are fantastic in large containers or at the front/middle of a sunny border.
Care While Growing:
Pinch: This is a must. Pinch out the main growing tip when the plant has 3-4 pairs of leaves. This encourages the plant to branch out, creating a bushier habit with multiple flower spikes rather than just one.

🤝 Perfect Garden Companions
The warm apricot tones of 'DoubleShot Peach' glow against darker partners:
- 💜 Salvia viridis 'Oxford Blue': The Sunset Contrast. The deep indigo-purple of the Salvia makes the soft peach of the Snapdragon look vibrant and glowing. A classic "fruit salad" colour clash.
- 🌼 Rudbeckia 'Sahara': The Vintage Mix. Both plants share muted, antique tones of copper, peach, and brown. Plant them together for a sophisticated, autumnal feel that starts in summer.

⚠️ Harvesting Tip
Cut the flowers when the bottom 2-3 florets are open but the top of the spike is still in tight bud. This ensures they open gradually in the vase, giving you 7-10 days of colour.
🏆 Officially Recognised Excellence
This variety is an F1 Hybrid, meaning it has been scientifically bred for vigour, disease resistance, and exceptional uniformity. It will outperform open-pollinated seeds in challenging conditions.
