Calendula 'Pacific Beauty Cream' Seeds

If standard orange marigolds are too loud for your taste, 'Pacific Beauty Cream' is the perfect alternative. It produces large, semi-double flowers in a soothing shade of soft buttermilk-yellow to pale lemon, standing tall on long, sturdy stems.

Part of the heat-tolerant 'Pacific Beauty' series, this variety is bred for performance. It won't flop or fade in the summer sun. It adds a gentle, sunny glow to borders and bouquets, mixing effortlessly with whites, blues, and silvers. It is the perfect "blender" flower, knitting together different colours in the garden with its neutral, creamy warmth.

๐ŸŒฟ Understanding the Plant

Calendula is a Hardy Annual.

It is famously tough and easy to grow. Unlike the short, squat marigolds used for bedding, 'Pacific Beauty' is a tall variety (up to 60cm), specifically designed to produce long stems for cutting.

The "Heat Lover": While Calendula prefers cool weather, the 'Pacific Beauty' strain has been bred to withstand hotter summer temperatures better than older varieties, meaning a longer flowering season.

๐ŸŒฑ Growing Guide: How to Sow and Grow

Calendula is the ultimate "sow and forget" flower for beginners.

Germination:
Sow directly outdoors where they are to flower. For summer blooms, sow March-May. For early spring blooms next year, sow in Autumn (Sept). Cover seeds with 1cm of soil. Germination takes 7-10 days.

Where to Sow:
They love **full sun** but tolerate partial shade. They are not fussy about soil and will thrive in poor, free-draining sites where other plants struggle.

Care While Growing:
Deadhead: This is the secret to success. Snip off the flower heads as soon as they fade. This stops the plant from putting energy into seeds and keeps the creamy flowers coming until the first frost.
